SJA Loses Out On BAFTA

Yes, unfortunately and not for the first time The Sarah Jane Adventures has lost out on a Bafta and surprisingly enough not against its closest rival Dustbin Baby but in fact from a Welsh production called Wil's Christmas List. Maybe next year will be SJA's year

It is coming in 20 minutes, the first part of The Sarah Jane Adventures finale The Gift will air today on BBC One and HD at 4:35 pm. Tomorrow, The Sarah Jane Adventures, The Gift Part 2 will air and then we have to say goodbye to The SJA for another year. On a slightly happier note an SJA series four is looking fairly promising, but lets not get ahead of ourselves we have one final amazing adventure to Come. Enjoy it because you never know it may be our last. And as Sarah Jane Smith said in Doctor Who

Today the Ninth of November is the day when (Finally) The Sarah Jane Adventures Series 2 sees release to DVD. The DVD Box Set consists of Three discs.

Disc One Contains: The Last Sontaran and The Day Of The Clown.

Disc Two Contains: Secrets of The Stars and Mark of The Berserker

Disc Three Contains: The Temptation of Sarah Jane Smith and Enemy Of The Bane

It also features an array of Special Features and The 2009 Comic Relief SJA Special: From Raxacorricofallapatorius with Love. The DVD is on sale now at an RRP of £24.99, however Amazon has it for a very reasonable £12.98. The Cover can be seen above.

The SJA Official Website has been updated with a brand new feature! It is a very impressive Panoramic view screen of series three aliens with videos and Pictures, some of which are from future episodes. It has also been updated with images from The Eternity Trap Parts 1 and 2! Also The Wedding Of Sarah Jane Smith Novelisation and The Sarah Jane Adventures Quiz Book are being officially released Tomorrow, however, Amazon has had them in stock for the last few days. Overnight Ratings for The Wedding of Sarah Jane Smith

Overnight Ratings for The Wedding Of Sarah Jane Smith Part 2 have been released and part 2 of the adventure was watched by 1.1 Million. This figure is slightly lower than part 1's viewing figures which were 1.3 Million but it is still a very impressive figure considering the 4:30 Time slot that SJA has. In Other News, I know this is not strictly speaking SJA News but an air date has been released for the Waters of Mars which has been cowritten by SJA Writer Phil Ford. It will air at 7:00 P.M. on Sunday 15th November.

The amazing first part of The Wedding of Sarah Jane Smith aired yesterday and overnight viewing figures have been released. The First part of the Adventure which featured the Doctor as played by David Tennant reached an astonishing 1.3 million viewers which I think you'll agree is quite an achievement. In other news The Official Sarah Jane Adventures Website has been updated with pictures from part 2 of The Wedding Of Sarah Jane Smith, as well as that they have also added a new feature the Sarah Jane Adventures Foldees! These Foldees which are available to print out at The Official SJA Website are of a Slitheen and Trickster.

The Gift Synopsis Revealed

Today the synopsis for the sixth and final story of series three of The Sarah Jane Adventures The Gift was released and it contains minor spoilers. The Synopsis can be read below.

Part One: Sarah Jane, Luke, Clyde and Rani face an old enemy, the green Slitheen. When the Slitheen's latest scheme is halted, their rivals, the Blathereen, arrive. Declaring peace between the planets, they offer Sarah Jane a gift – one that might change the future of the human race forever.

Part Two: When the Blathereens' gift runs riot, Sarah Jane faces the battle of her life to save her son, Luke. With Clyde, Rani and K9 trapped in a school under siege, and the whole of London convulsing under the alien threat, everything heads for a final showdown in the attic – and not everyone is getting out alive...

First off the Sarah Jane Adventures has been nominated for a BAFTA for a second time! Its biggest competition would seem to be Dustbin Baby but maybe the second times the charm.

Secondly The BBC's SJA Website has been updated with some excellent pictures of The Wedding Of Sarah Jane Smith, which by the way starts tomorrow!

Thirdly Both David Tennant and Elisabeth Sladen will be appearing on BBC Breakfast to (no doubt) discuss The Wedding of Sarah Jane.

And lastly I am sorry to report that it seems as if the SJA Series three box set will not be released in January 2010 but October 2010!

I have also found this promotional image for the wedding of Sarah Jane Smith which can be seen here. Digital Spy have also got exclusive images from the episode and a final episode line from Sarah Jane herself! 'No one *** **** ****** *** ******"

The reason some of the words are in asterics is that Digital Spy have not released the full sentence we will just have to wait until next week to find out!

It has recently been posted on Amazon that The Sarah Jane Adventures series three will be released on DVD earlier then the two previous seasons on 25th of January 2010!! This comes after rumors that DVD manufacturers are very eager to publish the series on DVD due to the interest created by the Doctor's appearance in The Wedding Of Sarah Jane Smith. It is not yet known whether or not it will be released on Blu-ray. No cover art has yet been released but will be here as soon as it becomes available.

Sarah Jane Smith (Elisabeth Sladen) and the gang come face to face with the rhino-like Judoon

Investigative journalist Sarah Jane Smith, one-time companion to The Doctor, is back for a third series of alien-busting adventures, from creator Russell T Davies, which also features a special appearance from The Doctor himself, David Tennant, who stars in two episodes.

The Gift of the Sarah Jane Adventures

It has been (apparently) confirmed in the latest issue of Doctor Who magazine out Thursday. That not only will The Sarah Jane Adventures series three air twice weekly but that Simon Callow and Miriam Margoyles will be Providing voices for the final series three parter entitled: The Gift.

It is not yet confirmed who they will voice (Probably the Blathereen) although in Sarah Jane it may be more accurate to say what or it. Anyway, Doctor who magazine 413 is on sale tomorrow. What do you think of this news? Tell me in the comments or In the Xylok Wavelength (CBox)!

Two Series Three Guest Stars Unveiled

It was recently confirmed by Nikki Smith in a recent interview that Suranne Jones and Jeff Rawle, who harry potter fans will be familiar with as Amos Diggery, will be Appearing in The Sarah Jane Adventures Series Three. It is not yet known what Character Suranne or Jeff will play although it is suspected that Suranne will be Playing the Living Painting.

Instead I'm happy to report that we are getting their cousins, the Blathereen instead, which I think is a much better idea as we get the history that we have with the slitheen on SJA but slightly different which shakes it up nicely. In other news The Reptilian Veil character, which was reported to be a new character to the world of doctor who in the Sarah Jane Adventures Series three press release, will be called Androvax.

After much digging on wikipedia, The world's largest online encyclopedia. I finally stumbled this upon which gave me a list of The Sarah Jane Adventures series three rumours. One which I found particularly interesting is the name of a rumored villain. The name is (highlight to reveal) Erasmus Darkening In Other News with The Sarah Jane Adventures series three only about 7 weeks away I think it is likely we will hear information on a series 2 box set (which was recently confirmed to be released) Any news on this will be published on SJA News as soon as it is available.

The Sarah Jane Adventures series three ( sadly ) concluded filming today, hopefully not for the last time. Even if, god forbid, SJA did get cancelled due to budget cuts ( which isn't looking very likely ) We must count ourselves lucky that we got a series three at all as SJA was nearly cancelled several times because of budget cuts. With series three filming completed we look ahead now to what is coming over the next few months like the SJA Quiz Book and Novelisation, the Series 2 DVD Box Set, The upcoming audiobooks and of course Series Three of the best Drama on CBBC and anywhere The Sarah Jane Adventures.

Slitheen to Appear in Series Three of SJA?

The daily mirror has apparently reported that the slitheen will be returning to The Sarah Jane Adventures series three when it returns in Autumn. The Slitheen have previously appeared in the Series 1 episodes: Revenge of the Slitheen and The lost Boy and the Comic relief 2009 episode entitled: From Raxacorricoffalapatorius with love.

It would seem that for The Sarah Jane Adventures series three we have a lot of returning villains those that have been confirmed are: The Trickster and the Judoon ( I know the judoon are not strictly Sarah Jane but they are already well known from the series three doctor who episode Smith and Jones). However with such new characters like the Reptilian Veil, The mysterious painting ( which is rumoured to be the Mona Lisa) , The continuously growing weed , the child who can make children play against their will and the appearance from the Doctor ( David Tennant) SJA Series three looks set to be an amazing series.

Audiobooks Delay!!!

As I said in a previous post Two new Sarah Jane Adventures Audiobooks entitled: The White wolf and The Shadow People were scheduled for release in September, It now says on Amazon that these Audiobooks will not be released until the 8th of October 2009! Whether or not this is a mistake ( Although personally I think not) I'm not sure if this changes you will here about it.

The Future of Sarah Jane Smith

In a recent interview with Russell T. Davies. Russell was promoting Torchwood Children of Earth which begins next monday at 9p.m. He also added that he was staying on with the Sarah Jane Adventures and Torchwood. Russell went on to say, and you may want to sit down for this bit, we started working on the Sarah Jane Adventures series Four Yesterday!!! He goes on to say that series four is not definite but is looking very promising as The Sarah Jane Adventures is the highest rated programme on CBBC. The Children's Department in CBBC really likes the show!

So now with Series four looking fairly definite, Does anybody else need to be picked up off the floor in hysterics!!!

Elisabeth Sladen's Husband to Appear in Sarah Jane Adventures

It has recently been reported that Brian Miller, Elisabeth Sladen's long time husband will be making an appearance in the Sarah Jane Adventures series three when it airs in Autumn 2009!

Also Paul Kasey will be returning to voice the Judoon in SJA Series Three.

Maria Jackson To Return?

Rumors have recently appeared online that Yasmin Paige who plays Maria Jackson will reprise her role as Maria Jackson in the Sarah Jane Adventures series three.

This would make sense if you consider the fact that K-9 will be returning and that after Yasmin's character Maria moved to Washington in the first episode of series two she was brought back in a cameo appearance in Mark of The Berserker

Today I (with the help of some friends) set up a series 1 episode guide for the Sarah Jane Adventures. The Series 1 episodes are:

All These Adventures are included in The Sarah Jane Adventures Series 1 DVD (Pictured Above)

As well as a synopsis for each Adventure, There is also a list of cast members and the actress or actor who portrays them. I also gave each Adventure a mark out of Ten,

BBC Press office have confirmed the tenth doctor's appearance in the show they also gave a sort of summary of series three (look away now if you don't want to see the spoilers!)

The series includes 12 weeks of brand new adventures featuring a new alien race, the reptilian Veil and their enemies the Judoon, alongside an extraterrestrial girl that can make people play games against their will.

There will also be a living painting, the inhabitants of a supposedly haunted house, monsters who want to infect Earth with a strangely aggressive weed and a chance for Sarah Jane to find personal happiness with someone who could be the perfect person to complete her family.

The Trickster to return!

Last Saturday at the vortex convention in belfast Paul Marc Davis the actor who plays the trickster in the sarah jane adventures revealed that he will be returning to the show for series three. The Actor has previously been in the series one episodes Whatever Happened to Sarah Jane? and the series two episodes The Temptation of Sarah Jane Smith. It is expected that the graske will also be appearing as he has been in all episodes that the trickster has been in.
